These terms and conditions establish the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between Bibimbap Story Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") and users (hereinafter referred to as "Members") regarding the use of K-Hangeul services provided through the Company's internet sites and mobile applications, as well as other necessary matters.
① The definitions of terms used in these terms and conditions are as follows:
② The definitions of terms not specified in each item of paragraph 1 follow relevant laws and general commercial practices.
① The Company publishes these terms in the app and on its website. A service agreement is formed when a member reviews and accepts the terms during registration and the Company accepts the application. Downloading or using the app does not replace separately required consent to personal information processing or consent from a legal representative.
② Members may review the applicable terms and purchase conditions before registering or purchasing a paid service. The Company’s duty to notify changes does not depend on members periodically checking the terms.
③ The Company may amend these terms within applicable law. Changes, reasons, and the effective date will be announced in the app or on the website at least 7 days in advance. Material or adverse changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance and individually notified under Article 24. Any separately required consent or notice procedure will be followed.
④ Members may decline amended terms and terminate their agreement. Access to previously paid services and refunds follow Article 19. Continued use or failure to object does not replace consent required by law.
① Services begin when the Company accepts a member’s application. A separate commencement date, if any, is disclosed in advance. Business or technical delays are notified in the app or on the website.
② The service is intended for users of various ages. Where applicable law requires a legal representative’s consent to the service agreement or personal information processing, the relevant services are provided after that consent and legally required verification are completed.
③ The Company may request age, country of residence, and other information necessary to determine the required procedure. Users must provide accurate information and correct errors or changes. Additional checks may be requested proportionately to applicable law and processing risks, with advance explanation of their purpose, method, and personal information processing. Missing age information is not treated as proof of adulthood.
④ The Company explains required consent and verification procedures and may defer registration or features requiring consent until it is confirmed. Personal information consent is separate from consent to service and paid-service agreements. Registration consent does not authorize all processing requiring separate consent.
① The Company provides Korean-language learning using video and audio content with speech recognition and related features. Features and access are described in the service and purchase conditions.
② Reasons, notices, and paid-service settlement for service changes, suspension, or termination follow Article 11.
① The Company protects personal information under applicable law, including the Korean Personal Information Protection Act. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
② The Company may request minimal identity verification for account security, rights requests, or legally required checks. The purpose, information needed, and retention period are disclosed in advance. Less intrusive alternatives to ID copies are offered where possible. If an ID must be checked, unnecessary numbers and details should be concealed. Legally restricted identifiers are not collected without a lawful basis.
③ External providers may apply their own policies to independently processed information. This does not exclude the Company’s legal duties for information it transfers or entrusts to them.
Members must safeguard account information and correct errors or changes. Liability arising from information management or delayed updates is determined by each party’s fault and applicable law. The Company’s liability for its intent or negligence is not excluded.
① The Company may display advertisements within the service. Where personalized advertising or promotional messages require separate consent, consent is obtained under Article 21.
② The advertiser is responsible for the terms and performance of transactions relating to its advertisements. The Company’s liability for damage caused by its intent or negligence and its responsibilities under applicable law are governed by Articles 22 and 23.
③ If additional personal information beyond what is necessary for the service is requested, the Company separately explains the purpose, items, retention period, and consequences of refusal and obtains any legally required consent.
④ The Company may send the first paragraph's advertisements and third paragraph's information using SMS(LMS), smartphone notifications (Push notifications), and email by utilizing personal information collected from members with prior consent, and members can refuse to receive them at any time if they do not want them.
① The K-Hangeul app includes in-app payment functions for purchasing in-app content.
② Members must use password setting functions on devices and password setting functions provided by open markets to prevent third-party in-app purchases, and the Company applies modules, libraries, etc. for in-app payments with authentication procedures provided by open markets according to the Korea Communications Commission's recommendations and 'Open Market Mobile Content Payment Guidelines'.
③ Liability for third-party purchases where a member has not enabled payment security settings is determined under applicable law and each party’s fault. Liability arising from the Company’s intent or negligence is not excluded.
④ Members have the responsibility to faithfully pay in-app payment amounts.
⑤ YouTube is a free service that you can watch for free anytime using K-Hangeul and YouTube. K-Hangeul's in-app payments are for using K-Hangeul features and content, not for charging for YouTube viewing.
① Members may access the features and content included in their plan during the monthly or annual subscription period shown at checkout. Free features, usage limits, and other plan conditions are disclosed in the service. Access after renewal cancellation, early termination, and refunds follow Article 19.
② Supported devices, operating systems, app/web availability, and purchase restoration follow the service guidance. The Company provides the access agreed or advertised and remedies any failure attributable to it under applicable law and these terms.
① The Company may change services currently being provided according to operational or technical needs. For services to be changed, the Company will post the content and provision date on the operated homepage and provide prior notice. However, in unavoidable circumstances such as critical bugs, server equipment failures, urgent security problem resolution, etc., the Company may provide notice after the fact.
② If the Company ends the service, it will announce the end date, reason, and refund procedure on its website and notify members under Article 24 at least 30 days in advance. Any unprovided portion of an already paid subscription period will be refunded under Article 19, based on the actual payment for that billing period, without a termination penalty.
③ The Company may restrict or suspend all or part of services in the following cases:
1. When there are force majeure reasons such as war, civil unrest, natural disasters, or national emergency
2. When there are obstacles to normal service use due to power outages, equipment failures, or excessive usage
3. When unavoidable due to repairs of service equipment, etc.
4. When the Company cannot provide services due to various circumstances
④ The Company will notify members of service changes under paragraph 1 or service interruptions occurring during those changes by displaying a notice when the mobile app is launched. If prior notice is not possible, the Company will provide notice afterward. Suspension of all services under paragraph 2 follows the procedure specified in that paragraph, including notice on the homepage 30 days in advance.
⑤ The Company is liable under applicable law for damage caused by service changes or interruptions attributable to its intent or negligence. If paid services cannot be provided, the Company will take appropriate measures, such as extending access or refunding the unprovided portion.
① The Company may use AI for speech recognition, pronunciation assessment, learning conversations, and content generation. Users are informed before using generative AI features, and generated outputs are labeled as required by applicable law.
② AI recognition, assessments, and responses may contain errors or inaccuracies. Learning assistance alone does not constitute an official test result or determine important decisions such as admission or employment. Users may report errors or inappropriate outputs to support; the Company reviews reports and takes necessary action.
③ Processing of AI inputs, outputs, and learning records, and the use of external providers, are described in the Privacy Policy. Optional consent for model training and improvement follows Article 21.
④ This Article does not limit agreed service obligations, liability for the Company’s intent or negligence, or members’ statutory rights.
① The Company complies with relevant laws and faithfully exercises rights and fulfills obligations specified in these terms and conditions in good faith.
② The Company maintains security systems to protect personal information and publishes and complies with its Privacy Policy. Third-party disclosures follow the notice and consent procedures required by applicable law.
③ The Company strives to repair or restore equipment when obstacles occur or data is lost during service improvement for continuous and stable service provision, unless there are unavoidable reasons such as natural disasters, emergencies, or defects and obstacles that cannot be resolved with current technology.
④ The Company immediately processes opinions or complaints raised by members when they are recognized as legitimate. However, when immediate processing is difficult, the Company may notify the reason and processing schedule to members through a phone number or email address lawfully available for that purpose.
① Members shall not engage in the following acts:
1. Using false information or other people's information when providing personal information to the Company due to event wins, or making false statements
2. Stealing or improperly using other members' IDs and passwords
3. Reproducing, distributing, promoting, or commercially using information obtained through the Company's services or using services without the Company's prior approval
4. Using the Company's services to generate property benefits for oneself or others
5. Acts that damage others' reputation or cause harm
6. Unauthorized use of payment methods without the account holder's consent or approval to pay service usage fees
7. Infringing on the Company's intellectual property rights, third parties' intellectual property rights, portrait rights, and other rights
8. Registering or distributing virus-infected materials that destroy or cause confusion in information, etc. related to services by exploiting program bugs or using services
② Members have the obligation to confirm and comply with these terms and conditions, usage guidelines and precautions announced regarding mobile services, and matters notified by the Company.
③ The Company may specify specific types of acts under paragraphs 1 and 2 in operation policies, and members have the obligation to comply with them.
1. Restrictions on service usage methods
2. Other matters that the Company deems necessary for mobile service operation within the scope that does not infringe on members' essential rights to use mobile services
① Copyright and other intellectual property rights in Company-produced content belong to the Company or the relevant rights holder under applicable law and rights arrangements. Members may use content within the purchase conditions and these terms.
② Rights in materials submitted by members remain with the relevant rights holders. Members must have the authority needed to submit materials, and the Company processes them to the extent necessary to provide the requested service. This Article does not grant blanket permission for advertising, public disclosure, or model training.
③ Rights in and permitted uses of AI outputs may vary under applicable law, third-party rights, and feature-specific conditions. The Company does not guarantee exclusive copyright in all outputs or absence of third-party rights. This does not exclude the Company’s legal liability.
① Paid services commence from the time the Company approves a member's service application (for new and some services, from the designated date publicly announced after receiving the service application), and when services cannot be commenced due to the Company's technical reasons or other circumstances, the Company will provide prior notice to members according to the method of Article 24.
② When there is a member's service application, the Company notifies the fact, and members who receive the Company's notice must request correction or modification of discrepancies when there are discrepancies in intention, etc., and the Company must process according to members' requests. However, when payment has already been made, the provisions of Article 19 regarding withdrawal apply.
③ Paid services are monthly or annual subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Paddle. The purchase screen specifies the service, price, billing cycle, access period, and automatic renewal terms.
④ The subscription renews at the billing interval shown at purchase unless automatic renewal is canceled. Cancellation of renewal and withdrawal or a refund are separate procedures under Article 19.
⑤ If changes to content licensing prevent the Company from providing a paid service as agreed, the Company will notify members and take appropriate measures, including a refund of the unprovided portion.
⑥ Where an institution, school, or employer funds access, eligibility, features, duration, and termination conditions are separately disclosed. Institution-funded access is not treated as a payment made by the member for refund calculations. A subscription separately purchased by the member remains subject to Article 19. Ending institution-funded access is separate from account and personal information deletion. Disclosure of personal information to an institution follows the Privacy Policy and a lawful basis.
① Members may switch monthly/annual subscriptions or plans where supported by the purchase platform. Availability, effective date, additional charges or adjustments, and the next renewal date are shown in the platform’s change flow.
② The Company explains the conditions before a change takes effect. If direct changes are unavailable, it explains available steps such as canceling the existing subscription and purchasing a new one, including how to check overlapping charges and access periods. Termination and refunds of existing payments follow Article 19.
③ If the Company changes plan features or prices, it explains the changes and effective date under the applicable notice procedures in Articles 3 and 24 and obtains consent required by law or the purchase platform.
① Members may pay for monthly or annual subscriptions using payment methods available through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Paddle. The seller, amount, currency, taxes, and billing cycle are shown at checkout and on the receipt.
② Payment and subscription management procedures may vary by platform. Use of an external platform does not exclude the Company’s responsibilities under applicable law or these terms.
① Members may cancel automatic renewal through the platform used for purchase. This stops the next payment; unless a separate early termination or refund occurs, access continues until the end of the paid subscription period. Canceling renewal does not automatically refund a prior payment.
② Cancellation routes are: Apple App Store: device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions → K-Hangeul → Cancel Subscription; Google Play: Subscriptions → K-Hangeul → Cancel subscription; Paddle: manage or cancel the subscription through the customer portal link in the receipt sent to the checkout email address. If you cannot find or cancel a subscription, contact in-app support or dbehdrb99@bibimbapstory.com.
③ The Company applies a full-refund policy to each initial and renewal payment when a refund is requested within 7 days of that payment. This policy does not restrict statutory withdrawal periods or rights. Statutory periods and their starting dates are governed by applicable law, including the date of receipt of the written contract and commencement of service supply.
④ For early termination outside paragraph 3 or other applicable refund rights, monthly and annual subscriptions are refunded pro rata for the unused portion of the relevant billing period, based on the actual amount paid after discounts. The undiscounted monthly price is not applied retroactively. No penalty or early termination fee is charged.
• Refund = actual amount paid for the relevant billing period × unused days ÷ total days in that billing period.
• Total days are the actual days from the start to the expiry of that billing period. Early termination takes effect when the Company or purchase platform receives the member’s clear intention to terminate early; unused time runs from that date to expiry. A refund eligibility inquiry or review request without a confirmed intention to terminate does not by itself end access. If the intention is unclear, the Company confirms whether termination is requested and its effective date. Additional checks or processing delays do not postpone the effective date of an already clear termination request. Termination before service begins results in a full refund. Company processing delays are not counted as used days. Paid access ends when early termination takes effect.
• The refund cannot exceed the payment for that period. Fractions below the smallest currency unit are rounded up in the member’s favor. Amounts already refunded for the same payment are not paid twice.
⑤ If the service differs from its description, advertising, or contract, members may exercise withdrawal within 3 months of supply and within 30 days of discovering, or being able to discover, the discrepancy. Statutory withdrawal and termination attributable to the Company are governed by applicable refund and compensation rules. Paragraph 4 does not limit statutory rights.
⑥ Withdrawal may be communicated by phone, email, or other means. Written withdrawal, including electronic documents, takes effect on the date of dispatch; other notices take effect upon receipt. The Company will acknowledge receipt and explain the procedure without delay.
⑦ App Store refunds may be requested at Apple’s refund request page. Google Play refunds may be requested through the routes in Google Play’s refund guidance or Company support. Paddle refunds may be requested through the support route on the receipt or Company support. Refunds approved and processed by a platform follow its procedures, and the Company provides necessary guidance and cooperation. Platform procedures do not exclude the Company’s refund obligations under these terms or members’ statutory rights.
⑧ Refunds processed by the Company are generally returned to the original payment method. Statutory withdrawal refunds are made within 3 business days of the legally prescribed starting date; other refunds under this Article are made within 3 business days of receiving a clear refund application. An inquiry about refund eligibility is distinguished from an application. The Company requests suspension or cancellation of payment claims without delay when needed. If technical limitations prevent refund to the original method, an alternative is arranged with the member. Refunds are not restricted solely because of the payment method or prior refund history.
① Members must comply with relevant laws, these terms and conditions, detailed usage guidelines, service usage guidelines, and precautions announced on sites when using paid services provided by the Company, and must not engage in acts that damage the Company's and others' reputation or interfere with service operation or other business performance.
② Members must safeguard IDs and passwords and must not share or transfer accounts without authorization or enable misuse. A legal representative’s lawful assistance with a child’s account management, consent, rights requests, or service use is not unauthorized sharing. The learner and representative must remain distinguishable, and this does not authorize shared use beyond the necessary assistance. Liability for others’ use of a member’s personal information to access paid services is determined by each party’s fault and applicable law. Members must not steal or improperly use others' names, IDs, passwords, mobile phone numbers, account numbers, credit card numbers, etc.
③ Members must not use paid services for business activities or profit-making purposes, engage in acts prohibited by these terms and conditions, or use services beyond permitted scope, except when the Company permits in advance.
④ Members must not engage in illegal acts or acts against good customs or social order during paid service use, or engage in acts of trading with third parties for value or converting to cash.
⑤ Members must not use information obtained through paid services for purposes other than service use without the Company's prior approval.
⑥ Members must use various content and materials including service-related educational content only within the scope of private use and must not provide them to third parties or use them for profit. Additionally, members must not illegally distribute or share voice services or downloaded content, and members are responsible for all problems arising from such violations.
⑦ When there are violations under paragraphs 1 through 6, the Company may notify the violation fact to relevant members and suspend service provision for 1 month or terminate or cancel service agreements. The Company's intention under this paragraph takes effect from the date displayed to members. Meanwhile, regarding the Company's termination, cancellation, and usage suspension, members may file objections according to procedures established by the Company, and the Company may resume service use when members' objections are recognized as legitimate.
⑧ If age, residence, or other information is incorrect or required legal representative consent is unconfirmed, the Company may request verification, correction, or consent procedures. Reasons and procedures are explained, and relevant features may be restricted to the extent necessary for legal compliance. Members or legal representatives may contact support for correction or review. Statutory rights concerning contract validity, cancellation, and refunds are preserved.
⑨ Where applicable law requires legal representative consent for a paid-service contract, that consent must be obtained before contracting, except where the contract may validly be made without it. The Company explains the product, price, billing cycle, automatic renewal, cancellation, and refund conditions and performs required consent checks. Successful payment alone is not treated as proof of legal representative consent. Contract validity, cancellation, and refunds where required consent was absent are governed by applicable law.
⑩ Members may request account deletion in the app’s account settings. If the app is inaccessible, they may contact support and request deletion after identity verification.
⑪ Account deletion does not automatically cancel Apple App Store, Google Play, or Paddle subscriptions. To prevent further charges, cancel automatic renewal through the routes in Article 19(2) and verify cancellation before deleting the account. To use the remaining paid period, delete the account after it expires; for early termination or a refund, apply under Article 19. Paid services cannot be accessed through a deleted account, but account deletion alone does not extinguish refund rights under these terms or applicable law. Support remains available for payment verification and refund requests after deletion.
⑫ Uninstalling the app does not delete the account or server-held personal information, or cancel a subscription. Retention and deletion of personal information follow the Privacy Policy.
① Processing purposes, data items, legal bases, retention, external disclosure, outsourcing, international transfers, and rights procedures are explained in the Privacy Policy.
② Where separate privacy consent is required, the Company explains the purpose, information, retention, right to refuse, and consequences before obtaining consent. Acceptance of the Terms of Service and privacy consent are obtained separately.
③ Declining optional marketing or AI model training/improvement consent does not restrict basic services unrelated to those optional purposes. Withdrawal procedures and subsequent processing are explained in the Privacy Policy.
④ The Privacy Policy distinguishes processing for contract performance or legal obligations from processing based on consent. Refusing consent required for a particular feature may limit access to that feature.
⑤ Optional consent is not preselected and may be chosen separately by purpose. Members may request their consent records or withdraw consent through the channels in the Privacy Policy.
① The Company compensates members under applicable law for damage caused by its intent or negligence.
② When members cause damage to the Company by violating these terms and conditions, members are responsible for compensating the Company for the damage.
① The Company is not liable for damage caused by inability to provide services due to force majeure or failures not attributable to the Company. This does not affect refund or settlement obligations under applicable law or these terms.
② Damage arising from a member’s failure to safeguard their account or a third party’s conduct does not exclude liability attributable to the Company’s intent or negligence. Nor is the Company’s liability under applicable law for partners, contractors, or external service providers excluded.
③ The Company does not guarantee specific learning outcomes or earnings expected by members. This does not limit its obligations to provide the agreed or advertised service or its liability under applicable law.
④ No provision of these terms excludes statutory liability arising from intent or gross negligence of the Company, its performance assistants, or employees.
① When the Company notifies members, it may do so through email addresses, text messages, etc. specified by members.
② When notifying all members, the Company may substitute for paragraph 1's notice by posting on the app's initial screen for 7 days or more or presenting popup screens, etc. Where applicable law or these terms require individual notice, that requirement takes precedence.
Matters not specified in these terms and conditions and interpretation of these terms and conditions follow relevant laws such as the 「Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce」, 「Act on Regulation of Terms and Conditions」, 「Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection」, 「Content Industry Promotion Act」, etc.
① The Company operates customer inquiry services to reflect legitimate opinions or complaints raised by users and compensate for damages.
② The Company prioritizes processing complaints and opinions submitted by users when they are judged to be legitimate. However, when processing takes a certain period, the Company immediately notifies users of the reason and processing schedule.
③ Regarding electronic commerce disputes occurring between the Company and users, when users have objections to dispute resolution results, they may follow the mediation of the Fair Trade Commission or dispute mediation agencies.
① These terms and the service agreement are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. This choice does not deprive members of mandatory protections of their country of habitual residence or other applicable protections under conflict-of-laws rules.
② International jurisdiction and the competent court are determined by applicable law, including the Korean Act on Private International Law, Civil Procedure Act, and Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. Overseas members are not uniformly required to litigate only in a specified Korean court.
